Columbia/Barnard Hillel Parents’ Council

The parents of Columbia/Barnard Hillel students play an important role in advancing the mission of our Hillel as ambassadors, donors, and champions of our mission. The Parents’ Council initiative in the Office of Development coordinates to advance the work of Columbia/Barnard Hillel through supporting the organization philanthropically. Through the generosity of parents, Hillel receives the unrestricted support needed to implement our current programming and to grow our outreach to the Jewish student body.

Council members greet parents at first-year welcome events during the summer and attend gatherings throughout the year as advocates for our organization. Parents’ Council members are committed to providing support to Hillel and helping to grow our parent community within Barnard College and Columbia University.

The Council meets once each semester. Members receive in-depth information about Hillel and meet with University officials who speak on topics concerning our student community.

If you have any questions about the Parents’ Council, please contact Alison Hoffer, Director of Development. (212) 854-0451 or Alison@Hillel.columbia.edu.
